Dog-walking firm Wag files for bankruptcy

Wag Group Co., a dog-walking service provider, has filed for bankruptcy and intends to transfer control to its senior creditor, Retriever LLC.

The San Francisco-based company aims to exit bankruptcy by September 1, 2025 pending court approval.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 21, 2025, using a prepackaged plan that enables quicker proceedings due to prior agreements with creditors.

In its filings, Wag reported assets and liabilities ranging between US$10 million and US$50 million.

Retriever LLC is set to provide US$6.5 million in debtor-in-possession financing to support Wag’s operations during the process.
