Avenue Supermarts Ltd, which operates the DMart retail chain, has appointed Anshul Asawa as its CEO-designate.

Asawa, previously with Unilever Plc for thirty years, will join the company in March 2025 and officially assume the CEO position in February 2026, as stated in a filing released on Saturday.

Ignatius Navil Noronha will continue as CEO until the leadership transition occurs.

Avenue Supermarts has also promoted two internal executives to senior management roles.

The announcement arrives as DMart faces growing competition from online grocery services and quick-commerce platforms such as Swiggy’s Instamart and Zomato’s BlinkIt.
