Digital Edge appoints group president as CEO

Singaporean data center firm Digital Edge has announced that John Freeman, currently group president, will succeed Samuel Lee as CEO, starting the second quarter of this year.

Freeman, a founding executive with over 25 years of industry experience, previously served as chief legal and compliance officer before becoming group president in 2024.

Lee will transition to senior advisor to the board.

Digital Edge operates 21 data centers across Asia and recently secured over US$1.6 billion in capital through equity and debt financing.

The company aims to expand its cloud and AI infrastructure in key markets, including Japan, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
