Didi’s Q4 revenue rises 7.1% but posts $179m net loss
Chinese ride-hailing company Didi Global reported a 7.1% increase in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2024, totaling 52.9 billion yuan (US$7.3 billion).
However, the company recorded a net loss of 1.3 billion yuan (US$179 million) for the quarter ending Dec. 31, compared to a profit of 45 million yuan (US$6.2 million) in the same period the previous year.
The company has faced regulatory challenges since 2021, when China’s cyberspace regulator investigated its US IPO, leading to app removals and restrictions.
Didi completed 3.25 billion transactions in Q4, marking a 10.8% year-on-year increase as travel demand in China rebounded.
