Didi Autonomous Driving has raised US$298 million in its C-round financing led by GAC Group, with contributions from Didi itself.

The funds will be used to advance autonomous driving technology and accelerate the development of Didi’s first mass-produced Robotaxi vehicle.

Didi is focusing on advancing L4-level autonomous driving technology. Zhang Bo, CTO of Didi and CEO of Didi Autonomous Driving, said L4 autonomous driving can potentially reduce traffic accidents and improve traffic efficiency.

The company has provided mixed dispatching services in demonstration areas across Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai for more than 1,500 consecutive days.
