Deloitte has signed a major enterprise AI deal with Anthropic, even as it refunds the Australian government for submitting a report with inaccurate AI-generated information.

The A$439,000 (US$290,618) contract was for an independent review, but the report contained errors such as citations to non-existent academic sources.

Deloitte will repay the final installment, and a corrected report has been published by the department.

Under the new partnership, Deloitte will roll out Anthropic’s chatbot Claude to its nearly 500,000 employees worldwide.

The two companies plan to develop compliance tools and AI-driven features for regulated sectors like finance and healthcare, and create AI agent personas for Deloitte’s departments.

Financial details were not disclosed.
