Dell shares jump 10% after raising revenue outlook
Dell Technologies, a Texas-based maker of servers, personal computers, and other IT hardware, raised its revenue forecast for the fiscal year ending January 2027 to about US$192 billion from roughly US$167 billion as demand for AI servers rises.
Its shares climbed about 10% in extended trading.
For the quarter ended July 31, revenue rose 58% to US$47 billion, and adjusted earnings reached US$7.04 a share.
Dell said AI servers would contribute US$74 billion in annual sales, about three times the prior year’s level, and its AI server backlog, a measure of future revenue, stood at US$95 billion at the end of the fiscal second quarter.
The company also forecast full-year adjusted earnings of US$25.50 a share, above analysts’ average estimate of US$19.10.
For the quarter, analysts had expected US$44.8 billion in revenue and adjusted earnings of US$4.90 a share.
Dell has publicly extended its relationship with CoreWeave on AI infrastructure, indicating that at least one named customer is behind the demand.
