DeepSeek to double workforce ahead of $7.35b funding
DeepSeek, a Hangzhou-based AI startup, said that it aims to at least double the size of all departments.
The hiring push includes technical and engineering roles. The move comes as DeepSeek is reportedly in the final stages of raising about 50 billion yuan (US$7.35 billion).
The financing would reportedly value DeepSeek at about 350 billion yuan (US$51.5 billion).
External investors would invest about 30 billion yuan (US$4.41 billion).
DeepSeek was previously backed mainly by High-Flyer, the hedge fund from which it was spun out, and Liang held 84% as of May 2024.
