DBS rolls out AI banking tools to 10 million users
DBS, a Singapore-based bank, said on July 28 that it added generative and agentic AI features to DBS Joy and DBS digibot for more than 10 million users in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
The update lets authenticated customers complete selected banking tasks through chat.
In Singapore, DBS Joy now offers agentic features to 350,000 corporate users. Another 100,000 users in Hong Kong are due to get the features in September.
The tool lets users check payment status, transfers, and fees in a single conversation.
DBS Joy serves corporate and small and medium-sized enterprise customers, while DBS digibot serves individual customers.
DBS digibot has had generative AI in the three markets since earlier in 2026. It will add wealth-related chat on digiWealth from August, and is set to get agentic and voice AI in the fourth quarter.
DBS said its wider AI program had deployed more than 1,500 models across 370 use cases. It projected S$1 billion (US$774 million) in economic value by 2025.
The launch came after the Monetary Authority of Singapore proposed guidelines for AI risk management in finance, including generative AI and AI agents.
Local peer OCBC has so far rolled out its disclosed generative AI chatbot to employees rather than customers.
