DBS PayLah! expands QR payments to Taiwan
Singapore-based DBS said on October 21 that users of its PayLah! mobile wallet can now pay at more than 250,000 participating merchants in Taiwan through TWQR, letting its more than 3 million users pay without a separate app.
TWQR, which Taiwan’s Financial Information Service Co. (FISC) has rolled out for inbound travelers, is Taiwan’s interoperable QR payment system.
The tie-up covers eligible TWQR codes from providers including Taiwan Pay and Easy Wallet, reaching about two-thirds of TWQR merchants, DBS said.
DBS said the launch is part of an April 2026 cross-border payments initiative between Singapore’s Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) and FISC, which developed TWQR.
The bank expects PayLah! users to gain access to the full participating TWQR merchant network in 2027.
DBS customers in Taiwan are also expected to scan Singapore Quick Response Code (SGQR) codes at participating merchants in Singapore through their digibank app that year.
Taiwan is the latest market in PayLah!’s existing overseas payment rollout.
