DBS expects AI to lift 2025 revenue by over $768m: CEO

DBS expects AI adoption to boost its 2025 revenue by over S$1 billion (US$768.8 million), up from S$750 million (US$576.6 million) in 2024, said CEO Tan Su Shan at the Singapore Fintech Festival.

The bank has integrated AI across its operations for more than a decade, with around 370 use cases powered by over 1,500 models.

Tan said generative AI has notably impacted the bank’s business, especially for institutional clients, and DBS recently launched “DBS Joy” for corporate users.

She acknowledged that continued investment and staff reskilling are needed as AI adoption grows, but said the focus is on automation and supporting client relationships rather than job cuts.

While many firms struggle to see returns on AI investments, DBS is among the banks reporting measurable gains.
