DayOne’s data center billings top 1GW as Johor expansion grows
Singapore-based DayOne, a digital infrastructure company that develops and operates data centers across Asia-Pacific and Europe, said on October 14 that its billings, or income-generating customer contracts for information technology power capacity, surpassed 1 gigawatt.
That was up from 121 megawatts at the end of 2024 and came a day after financing for its Johor expansion in Malaysia rose to US$7.2 billion.
DayOne also said bookings reached 2.3 gigawatts as of September 20, up from 1.25 gigawatts at the end of 2025. A consortium of seven banks provided an additional 15 billion ringgit (US$3.67 billion), equivalent to US$3.68 billion, in financing.
The financing will fund expansion of hyperscale data center capacity in Johor, which has emerged as a data center market. Hitachi Energy highlighted Johor’s proximity to Singapore in discussing that growth.
The expansion comes as concerns over power supply and environmental impact test Malaysia’s rapid data center build-out.
