Databricks raises $5b at $190b valuation
Databricks, a San Francisco-based data and AI software company, said on August 13 it closed a US$5 billion funding round at a US$190 billion valuation to expand its enterprise AI capabilities.
Coatue, Blackstone, MGX, T. Rowe Price, and Sixth Street Growth led the round, Databricks said.
The company said the funds will support Unity AI Gateway, which helps enterprises govern model calls and manage spending on AI apps.
They will also support Genie, an agentic AI tool whose usage the gateway can track through budgeting tools.
Databricks said it has surpassed a US$7 billion revenue run rate and posted more than 80% year-over-year growth in its second quarter.
The funding round came six months after Databricks raised US$5 billion and secured US$2 billion in additional debt capacity at a US$134 billion valuation.
Databricks has not publicly endorsed an initial public offering plan, according to a private-market tracking page.
