Databricks to invest $350m, double Singapore workforce
Databricks, a US-based data and AI company, said it will invest more than US$350 million in Singapore over the next three years after naming Singapore its Asia Pacific and Japan hub.
The plan includes doubling its Singapore workforce to more than 500, opening a 32,000-square-foot regional headquarters at IOI Central Boulevard Towers, and training an additional 20,000 people with the Infocomm Media Development Authority and institutes of higher learning.
It will also integrate training and certifications into curricula, starting with Singapore Management University.
The training pledge also aligns with Singapore’s National AI Strategy, which focuses on building AI capabilities.
Databricks also plans to launch a startup AI accelerator in November 2026 for more than 100 early-stage companies.
Each participant can receive up to US$200,000 in platform credits. The effort builds on the company’s broader startup program.
It also plans to work with the Singapore Economic Development Board on the Databricks Enterprise AI Transformation program to help companies move AI applications and agents from pilot to production.
