Database firm MongoDB CEO steps down, Cloudflare exec takes over
MongoDB CEO Dev Ittycheria will step down after 11 years, with Cloudflare executive Chirantan “CJ” Desai set to take over as chief executive on November 10, 2025.
Ittycheria, who led MongoDB’s IPO in 2017, will remain on the company’s board.
Desai joins MongoDB after serving as Cloudflare’s president of product and engineering, and previously held senior roles at ServiceNow, EMC, and Symantec.
Desai said he plans to split his time between New York and the San Francisco area.
Further details on the leadership transition are expected during a scheduled analyst call.
