US data center firm Vantage secures $1.6b for APAC platform
Vantage Data Centers has finalized a US$1.6 billion equity investment for its Asia-Pacific platform, with funds led by an affiliate of Singapore’s GIC and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).
Vantage Data Centers, headquartered in the US, builds and operates large-scale data centers across multiple regions.
Part of the investment was used to complete the acquisition of Yondr Group’s over-300MW hyperscale data center campus in Sedenak Tech Park, Johor, Malaysia.
The deal increases Vantage’s operational and planned IT capacity in Asia Pacific to 1GW across Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The Johor campus, JHB1, will provide more than 300MW of IT capacity through three data centers once fully developed.
Located in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, JHB1 offers connectivity with dark fiber routes and access to regional hubs.
