Danish VC firm BlackWood raises $23.2m fund for tech startups

BlackWood Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Copenhagen, has closed its debut fund at €21.3 million (US$23.2 million).

Launched in April 2023, the fund has made 19 investments across nine European countries.

Founded in 2021, BlackWood focuses on startups in the fintech, cleantech, and Web 3.0 sectors.

The firm aims to support founders from pre-seed to seed stages.

It plans to build a portfolio of around 30 companies through this fund.

Notable investments include the Dutch SaaS platform beSirius, the UK-based wealth management firm Sidekick, the London-based fintech startup IVM Markets, and the German AI-driven risk intelligence provider Particula.
