Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk taps OpenAI in drug R&D

Novo Nordisk will integrate OpenAI tools across its business to speed up drug development, clinical trial design, manufacturing, and commercial work, as the Danish drugmaker tries to regain ground in obesity drugs.

The company will start in research and development, manufacturing, and commercial units before full integration by year-end.

The deal builds on staff access to a custom version of ChatGPT to help scientists identify drug targets faster rather than replace workers.

Novo has also expanded its AI work through an Nvidia research partnership.
