Cybersecurity firm Miggo secures $17m series A
Miggo, an Israeli cybersecurity startup founded in 2023 by Daniel Shechter and Itai Goldman, has secured US$17 million in a series A funding round led by SYN Ventures and YL Ventures.
The company focuses on application security with its “Application Detection & Response” (ADR) platform, which aims to address real-time application threats.
The platform monitors live application behavior to detect and mitigate threats before breaches occur, differing from traditional post-deployment vulnerability scanning.
Miggo’s technology is designed for modern applications that use open-source libraries, AI-generated code, and microservices.
It plans to use the new funding to expand its customer base in the telecommunications and consulting sectors and increase its presence in the US and Europe.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ The dramatic compression of exploit timelines demands real-time protection
Miggo’s focus on “runtime and real-time” protection directly addresses a fundamental shift in the threat landscape: attackers now exploit vulnerabilities in under 30 minutes compared to previous timelines of days.
This acceleration represents a massive challenge for traditional security models that rely on patching vulnerabilities after discovery, a process that typically takes organizations days or weeks to complete.
This shift mirrors the cybersecurity industry’s broader evolution from the first computer viruses of the 1970s to today’s AI-powered attack automation, with each stage requiring increasingly rapid defensive responses 1.
The progression is particularly evident in major attacks like WannaCry (2017), which exploited known vulnerabilities and rapidly spread to 230,000 computers across 150 countries, demonstrating how quickly even known weaknesses can be weaponized at scale 2.
This timeline compression helps explain why Miggo’s approach, monitoring application behavior in real-time rather than scanning after the fact, represents a logical evolution in defensive strategy appropriate for today’s threat environment.
2️⃣ Israel’s cybersecurity dominance stems from military-to-private sector pipeline
Miggo’s founding by Unit 8200 alumni follows a well-established pattern in Israel’s cybersecurity ecosystem, where military expertise directly feeds commercial innovation.
Israeli cybersecurity firms raised $4 billion in 2024 alone, accounting for 36% of the country’s total tech funding and over 40% of U.S. private cybersecurity investments – numbers that reflect the country’s outsized impact in this sector 3.
