Crypto funds see record $6.4b outflows over five weeks
Global crypto investment products saw their fifth straight week of net outflows, totaling US$1.7 billion.
This brings the five-week total to US$6.4 billion, marking the worst stretch on record, according to CoinShares’ James Butterfill.
Since the start of the year, net inflows have fallen to US$912 million, with 17 consecutive days of outflows marking the longest streak since record-keeping began in 2015.
Total assets under management in crypto funds have dropped by US$48 billion from their peak to US$133.6 billion.
Bitcoin funds led the losses, with US$978 million in outflows last week, contributing to a five-week total of US$5.4 billion.
US investors drove US$1.16 billion of last week’s outflows, while Swiss funds saw US$527.7 million withdrawn. Meanwhile, Germany, Brazil, Australia, and Hong Kong recorded modest inflows.
Ethereum products faced US$175 million in outflows alongside a 10% price drop, while solana funds lost US$2.2 million. XRP funds were an exception, reporting US$1.8 million in inflows.
Analysts suggest market stabilization as outflows slowed toward the end of the week, with US regulations and economic indicators likely to impact future trends.
