CrowdStrike, Telkom Indonesia sign AI security deal
CrowdStrike said on August 28 that it signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Indonesia’s state-backed telecommunications and digital services provider, to deliver AI-powered cybersecurity and managed security services in Indonesia.
The partnership will combine CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform and security services with Telkom’s infrastructure and customer reach.
The companies said they will explore joint innovation, CrowdStrike-powered security offerings, and ways to bring them to market. Telkom also plans to standardize its own cyber defenses on the Falcon platform.
The two firms intend to form a joint team focused on securing AI agents, models, and systems. No financial terms were disclosed.
The agreement builds on CrowdStrike’s wider presence in Asia, after it opened a hub in Singapore and worked through partners across Asia Pacific and Japan.
It also adds to Indonesia’s managed security services market, while Digiserve, a Telkom-affiliated enterprise unit, has announced updates to its cybersecurity offerings.
Any rollout will need to fit Indonesia’s 2022 personal data protection law, which permits transfers under certain conditions, and sector-specific rules that can require data localization and incident reporting for some systems.
