CrowdStrike appoints Japan, Asia-Pacific vice president
CrowdStrike has appointed Jonathon Dixon as vice president and managing director for the Japan and Asia-Pacific region, effective February 11, 2026.
Dixon, with over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity and IT, will focus on expanding the adoption of CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform in the region.
He previously led regional growth at Verkada and Cloudflare, where he managed go-to-market strategies and operational teams across Asia.
CrowdStrike’s president, Michael Sentonas, said that Dixon’s regional insight and experience will support the company’s growth in JAPAC.
The company aims to strengthen its presence in JAPAC amid increasing demand for modern cybersecurity solutions.
CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity firm that offers a cloud-native platform for endpoint and cloud workload protection, utilizing AI for threat detection and response.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Why CrowdStrike is doubling down on the Asia-Pacific region
- The appointment follows heavy investment in the Asia-Pacific region. By late 2023, it produced 10% of CrowdStrike’s revenue and grew 36% year over year 1.
- Growth efforts also track a rise in regional cybercrime. Average ransomware demands in Southeast Asia recently doubled to $8.5 million, while nation-state actors (state-backed hacking groups) from China and North Korea remain active 1.
- Dixon’s hire sits within a wider leadership push. CrowdStrike also brought in Tim Clemens as VP for the Australia/New Zealand region, Debra Sutton as VP, Marketing, JAPAC (Japan and Asia-Pacific), plus Mike J. Byrne as VP, Professional Services, JAPAC 2.
A proven playbook for scaling in Asia is being deployed
- CrowdStrike hired Dixon after his work at Cloudflare, where he helped make the Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China (APJC) region its fastest-growing theater. The choice suggests a plan to scale go-to-market operations (how its sales and marketing teams bring products to market), rather than fill a broad general manager role 3.
- The approach puts more weight on market expansion through tighter go-to-market motions, partner work, plus alliances. It also aims to grow adoption of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform 2.
- Many high-growth U.S. tech companies take this route as they mature. Nearly two-thirds of CrowdStrike’s revenue comes from the U.S., so the next growth phase leans on repeating its results in complex international markets 4.
