Cross-border payments firm Payoneer to hire 300 in India
New York-based, Nasdaq-listed cross-border payments firm Payoneer Global plans to hire about 300 engineers in India by the end of 2026 for a new global capability center in Gurugram, near Delhi.
The company said the site will focus on AI and platform engineering and become its second-largest technology and research and development center globally. Payoneer’s Bengaluru office has about 400 employees in sales roles for India.
The move fits a broader multinational push into India. Industry consultant ANSR estimated revenue from India’s global capability centers would rise 12% to US$84 billion in 2026.
It also follows an established payments industry model. PayPal has said its India technology centers are its largest outside the US and build products and payments platform capabilities for global customers.
India site leader Gaurav Gupta said a proposed US$2.75 billion acquisition by Canada-based fintech Nuvei would not affect Payoneer’s India global capability center or its local business operations.
The all-cash deal, announced on June 15, 2026, is expected to close in mid-2027, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
