CoreWeave jumps 8.7% after launching new AI tools

CoreWeave shares rose 8.7% on October 8, after the AI cloud provider launched new tools for developers to build and monitor AI agents.

The company introduced a serverless reinforcement learning service that automatically manages computing resources, allowing models to train faster and at 40% lower cost compared to running Nvidia H100 GPUs locally.

The launch follows CoreWeave’s US$1 billion acquisition of Weights and Biases in May.

The Nvidia GPU rental firm, which went public in March, competes with Amazon Web Services and counts OpenAI and Meta among its clients.

OpenAI recently expanded its multi-year deal by up to US$6.5 billion, while Meta committed to spending US$14.2 billion.

CoreWeave also plans to acquire data center provider Core Scientific for US$9 billion, though some shareholders oppose the deal.
