CoreWeave expands OpenAI partnership with new $6.5b deal
CoreWeave has announced an expanded agreement with OpenAI to provide infrastructure for training OpenAI’s next-generation AI models, with the deal valued at up to US$6.5 billion.
CoreWeave is a US-based cloud provider focused on AI workloads.
This latest contract brings the total value of CoreWeave’s agreements with OpenAI to roughly US$22.4 billion since March 2025.
CoreWeave previously secured agreements with OpenAI valued at up to US$11.9 billion in March, and up to US$4 billion in May.
Peter Hoeschele, OpenAI’s VP of infrastructure and industrial compute, said CoreWeave is an important partner in OpenAI’s broader infrastructure platform.
CoreWeave has also made recent moves in the UK, announcing a £1.5 billion (US$1.83 billion) commitment to powering AI innovation and growth, and has acquired startups OpenPipe and Weights & Biases to expand its platform.
