CoreWeave acquires US-based open-source AI toolmaker Marimo

CoreWeave has agreed to acquire Marimo, the San Francisco Bay Area company behind the open-source marimo notebook, to integrate its AI-focused development environment into CoreWeave’s cloud platform.

The marimo notebook offers a reactive programming environment for Python, designed for AI and data applications.

CoreWeave said it will continue to support marimo’s open-source project, keeping the notebook freely available.

The acquisition aims to streamline developer workflows for AI projects.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

This follows CoreWeave’s recent acquisition of OpenPipe, its announced acquisition of Weights & Biases, and its intent to acquire Monolith AI.
