Comcast to pay $1.5m US fine after vendor data breach

Comcast will pay a US$1.5 million fine after a vendor data breach exposed personal information of 237,000 current and former customers, the US Federal Communications Commission said on November 24, 2025.

The breach occurred in 2024 through Financial Business and Consumer Solutions, a debt collector used by Comcast until 2022.

The exposed data belonged to Comcast’s internet, TV, and home security customers.

As part of the settlement, Comcast must implement new vendor oversight measures to improve customer privacy and data protection.
