Accel, Y Combinator back AI startup Pocket in $11m round
Pocket, a Y Combinator-backed startup that makes an AI recorder for in-person conversations and phone calls, has raised US$11 million from Accel, Y Combinator, and ElevenLabs CEO Mati Staniszewski.
The funding comes as the company expands in the AI transcription market.
Pocket sells a US$129 credit card-sized device that attaches to a phone and records conversations for transcription.
It also offers a US$200 annual subscription that includes unlimited AI summaries, assistant queries, daily highlights, and file attachments.
The company said it has sold more than 130,000 devices since launching last year.
Founded by Akshay Narisetti and Gabriel Dymowski, Pocket also offers enterprise workflow tools, webhook support, and integrations with Google Calendar, OneDrive, Google Drive, Obsidian, Claude, and Cursor.
It competes with software providers such as Otter, Zoom, Fireflies, and Read AI.
Pocket is entering a hardware niche where rival devices cost US$159 to US$189 and often come with subscription tiers.
In the US, recording rules vary by state and can require all-party consent for some calls and in-person conversations.
