Y Combinator joins $2m pre-seed round for German AI sales firm

Munich-based startup Venta AI has raised US$2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Gradient.

Other investors include Y Combinator, Orange Collective, Gaingels, and individual investors Gleb Tritus, Julian Borg, Göran Göring, and Freddy Martin.

The company builds AI-powered sales tools tailored for the German market, ensuring full compliance with local and EU data protection laws.

Its platform combines AI, high-quality data, and channels like postal mail to help sales teams identify and engage leads within GDPR and local regulations.

Co-founders Lucas Spreiter and Stefan Reuther, with prior AI experience, built Venta AI to address gaps in Germany’s sales tech market.

Venta AI’s digital workforce helps companies identify market potential and contact leads through compliant channels.

The funding will help expand the team and develop features that automate lead follow-up, CRM analysis, and client communications.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Europe’s digital divide creates opening for localized AI solutions

European companies have captured only 12% of their digital potential compared to 18% in the U.S., creating a significant opportunity for region-specific tools like Venta AI 1.

This gap is particularly evident in the sales technology sector, where most solutions are developed in the U.S. without specific adaptation for European markets or compliance regulations.

The EU’s digital trade deficit with the U.S. stands at 5.6% in services, highlighting the imbalance in technology adoption and development across the Atlantic 1.

Venta AI’s approach of building specifically for the German market addresses a critical need, as cross-border data flows have increased 45 times since 2005, making localized, compliant solutions increasingly valuable 1.

The founders’ experience helping companies like Telefonica and Linde adopt AI gives them firsthand understanding of the specific challenges European sales teams face with existing tools.

2️⃣ GDPR compliance emerges as competitive advantage in AI sales tools
