ByteAsk, a startup based in San Francisco that builds AI coding agents for C and C++, said on September 24 that it raised US$1 million in pre-seed funding from Y Combinator, Entrepreneur First, and angel investors working at global quantitative trading firms.

The startup said its code-verifying tool is designed for developers in mission-critical sectors, including defense, aerospace, finance, embedded systems, automotive, and semiconductors.

ByteAsk was founded by Anirudha Kulkarni and Pratyush Saini, who previously co-founded LawSutra AI, a legal AI startup acquired by Manupatra, an Indian online legal research company.

ByteAsk said it would use the funding to expand its engineering and research teams across San Francisco and Bengaluru.

The company also plans to invest in graphics processing unit compute, training data, and security, privacy, and on-premises infrastructure for enterprise customers.

ByteAsk also said it was selected for Y Combinator’s Fall 2026 batch.
