Coinbase to make USDC default in Samsung Wallet

Coinbase, a US-based crypto exchange, said it will make USDC the default dollar stablecoin in Samsung Wallet for US users starting in the last week of October 2026, expanding the companies’ partnership.

When users top up a stablecoin balance in Samsung Wallet, USDC will appear automatically.

Coinbase said it will hold those assets in custody through Coinbase Prime using New York State Department of Financial Services-qualified custody services.

Coinbase said the arrangement will also involve Bastion, a US-based stablecoin infrastructure provider.

Bastion describes itself as enterprise stablecoin infrastructure.

Google Wallet’s main page does not say whether the service supports native crypto balances, while Apple Pay has supported USDC payments through intermediaries.
