Coinbase is working with major US banks on pilot projects focused on stablecoins, cryptocurrency custody, and trading, CEO Brian Armstrong said at the New York Times DealBook Summit.

He did not identify the specific banks involved.

Armstrong said some banks are viewing cryptocurrency as an opportunity, while others remain cautious.

This comes as mainstream financial institutions show increased interest in cryptocurrency systems, despite ongoing regulatory scrutiny.
