Coinbase CEO to raise US crypto bill concerns at WEF

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong plans to discuss the US market structure bill at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos this week.

Armstrong said that Coinbase will continue engaging with bank executives to address remaining issues related to the legislation.

The company withdrew its support last week after reviewing a draft bill that proposed banning cryptocurrency firms from paying interest on stablecoin holdings, citing concerns over restrictions on yield activities.

The Senate’s draft aimed to limit activity-based rewards but permitted transaction, staking, or liquidity rewards.

Coinbase’s withdrawal has delayed a Senate Banking Committee markup hearing.

The company indicated it will work with legislators to amend the bill and clarify digital asset regulations.
