Cocoon Capital co-leads $3m for SG biotech startup Bioactivx
Bioactivx, a Singapore-based deep-tech startup spun off from A*STAR and SingHealth, has raised US$3 million in a pre-series A round co-led by Martin Krupp, managing director of Swiss family office ContInvest, and Singapore venture capital firm Cocoon Capital.
The funding will support the development and commercialization of its synthetic wound-care technology, Bioactiv® Matrix.
The round brings Bioactivx’s total funding to US$4.9 million.
The company said the proceeds will help expand manufacturing in Singapore, strengthen its commercial and regulatory teams, support post-market clinical trials for Bioactiv® Matrix, and advance other wound-care technologies, including treatments for chronic wounds and diabetic ulcers.
Bioactivx said it has submitted a full data package for Bioactiv® Matrix to Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority for regulatory approval.
The startup is targeting Singapore as one of its first launch markets in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by regional expansion in 2027.
Skin substitutes can support healing in chronic wounds by temporarily or permanently replacing damaged skin.
Diabetic foot ulcers also carry burdens, including high treatment costs and amputation risk globally, helping explain investor interest in advanced wound care.
