Cloudflare, OpenAI team up on AI vulnerability service

Cloudflare said on September 4 that it was offering invitation-only early access to Vulnerability Discovery and Remediation for select enterprise customers through Cloudflare Managed Defense.

The service uses OpenAI’s Daybreak models to analyze code, suggest patches, and help customers deploy edge protections based on live traffic and security data.

Cloudflare said no AI-generated code fix or edge rule would take effect without explicit human approval.

Cloudflare said it launched the service as software vulnerabilities were being disclosed more quickly.

Citing National Vulnerability Database figures, the company said 60,475 vulnerabilities had been logged by September 2026, up from 48,185 in all of 2025.
