Cloudflare said on August 4 that it launched Cloudflare Wallets and cloudflare.pay.

The new tools help businesses identify AI agents and allow agents deployed on Cloudflare to make online purchases within limits set by their human creators.

The San Francisco-based company, which provides internet security, performance, and reliability services, said each Cloudflare account will receive a unique web address that can serve as a stable identity.

The identifier can also extend to specific AI agents authorised by that account holder.

Cloudflare said a main wallet will receive, hold, and manage stablecoins, and create virtual wallets for individual agents with spending limits, approved merchants, and transaction-size limits.

Cloudflare Wallet handle reservations are now open.

Full wallet access, including adding and withdrawing funds and issuing virtual wallets, will roll out in the coming months.

The launch comes as methods to authenticate AI agents in commerce remain fragmented, with Visa also offering tools for AI-driven shopping and payments.

It also builds on Cloudflare’s broader AI web strategy, including Pay Per Crawl, a private beta feature that lets publishers charge AI crawlers for access to content.
