Vercel, a San Francisco-based cloud startup, is in talks with investors who have offered to invest hundreds of millions of dollars at a valuation between US$8 billion and US$9 billion, according to a person familiar with the matter.

These discussions are in early stages, and it is unclear if a deal will be reached.

The new funding could nearly triple the company’s previous valuation of US$3 billion from May 2024.

Vercel, which hosts and develops websites and AI apps, competes with firms like Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services and sells an AI-powered coding assistant.
