The deal marks ClearBank’s first Singapore client and its fifth with Asia-based partnership this year.
Tazapay said it serves merchants and platforms in more than 170 countries, supports over 80 local payment methods, and holds licenses in Singapore, the US, Canada, and Australia.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
ClearBank supports Tazapay’s UK and European payments access
- ClearBank is an application programming interface (API)-driven infrastructure provider and fully regulated bank. It gives fintechs and other firms access to UK payment schemes, including Faster Payments and Bacs, through its API 1.
- Tazapay backs a setup where businesses fund cross-border payouts with stablecoins, digital tokens designed to hold a steady value such as USDC or USDT. Those funds are converted into government-issued currency when a payout is made 2.
- That approach can free up cash for Tazapay’s business clients. It cuts the need to prefund and hold balances in several government-issued currencies 2.
- ClearBank counts digital asset platforms among its customers. Its regulated accounts and payments infrastructure can add traditional payment rails to stablecoin-funded payout models 1.
ClearBank aims to bank Asia-based fintechs expanding into the UK and Europe
- The Tazapay deal fits ClearBank’s effort to serve Asia-based fintechs entering the UK and Europe. Earlier, China’s YeePay chose ClearBank to safeguard funds in the UK and Europe 3.
- ClearBank has also announced UK payment rail partnerships with PingPong and PhotonPay 4, 5.
- Its API links to UK payment schemes can ease setup for Asia-based fintechs that might otherwise need other banking ties 1.
- New entrants from Asia may bring leaner funding models, including stablecoin-funded payouts. That could push local payments providers to sharpen services and pricing 2.
