Citigroup sees Meta’s Muse generating $27b a year by 2030

Meta’s AI assistant Muse could generate more than US$27 billion in annual revenue by 2030, according to Citigroup estimates. The brokerage said strong adoption and rising engagement support the assistant, which helps users search, compare, and complete transactions online.

Citi said Muse’s cumulative downloads have topped 6.6 million since its launch last month. Daily active users have reached 1.8 million.

Citi expects most of Muse’s future revenue to come from transactions, with the rest from subscriptions.

Muse debuted on September 8 as Meta expanded its AI agent push against offerings from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic. In the US, regulators have signaled broader scrutiny of AI.

The Federal Trade Commission is tracking AI, and a 2023 joint statement by federal agencies signaled wider oversight.
