Cisco, PSA Singapore to trial AI to curb Tuas Port outages

Cisco and PSA Singapore, the Singapore port operator behind Tuas Port, said on October 29 that they will develop a proof of concept for an AI-powered observability and incident management platform at Tuas Port to detect and reduce outages in systems that support cargo operations.

The companies said the platform will combine live data from PSA’s applications, infrastructure, and network into a single view.

It is meant to help technical teams identify affected services, trace the root cause of incidents, and receive recommended fixes.

Testing will start at the Tuas Port Phase 2 Living Lab.

Cisco said the project is part of its Country Digital Acceleration program, a global initiative that supports digitization through digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital skills, and industry transformation.

Separately, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has pursued efforts to strengthen cybersecurity in the maritime sector through cooperation, information sharing, and capability development.
