Cisco Investments backs Israeli cyber startup Zafran
Zafran Security, an Israeli cybersecurity startup founded in 2022, said on July 22 that Cisco Investments, Cisco’s venture capital arm, had invested in the company.
It is Zafran’s second strategic investment in six months, after American Express Ventures.
The investment size was not disclosed. The deal was expected to lift Zafran’s total funding from about US$130 million to more than US$140 million.
That follows a December 2025 series C round that brought total funding to US$130 million.
Zafran said it is an AI-native threat exposure management platform.
Its software identifies vulnerabilities that can be exploited and uses an organization’s existing security controls to help reduce risk and speed remediation.
The deal aligns with Cisco Investments’ approach to cybersecurity investing in areas including network detection and response, identity, ransomware, and security data.
The announcement came days after Zafran co-founder and CPO Snir Havdala left for a management role at Nvidia.
