Cisco beats Q4 estimates, issues strong Q1 outlook

Cisco Systems, a US networking equipment maker, reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of US$17.3 billion and adjusted earnings of US$1.22 a share for the period ended in July, beating analyst estimates of US$16.8 billion and US$1.17.

The company forecast first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of US$18 billion to US$18.2 billion and adjusted earnings of US$1.32 to US$1.34 per share, both above Wall Street estimates.

Despite the upbeat outlook, Cisco’s shares fell about 5% in extended trading.

The results continued a stronger fiscal 2026 after revenue rose 10% in the second quarter and 12% in the third quarter.

Cisco has not publicly broken out Splunk’s specific revenue contribution in recent earnings releases.

Cisco said it received US$4 billion in AI-related orders from hyperscalers, or the largest data center operators, in the quarter.

In May, the company said those orders to date totalled US$5.3 billion.

Investors were also weighing high expectations for Cisco’s AI efforts, a services revenue shortfall, and expectations already embedded in the stock.
