Chinese state media use AI videos to slam US tariff policies

China’s state-run media, including CGTN and Xinhua, have used AI-generated videos to criticize US tariffs and their impact on American consumers.

One CGTN video features an AI-generated song with visuals of a woman at a kitchen table and industrial scenes. It includes the line, “Track is AI-generated. The debt crisis? 100 percent human-made.”

Another video from Xinhua shows a robot named “Tariff” self-destructing after refusing to follow orders for high tariffs, linking it to trade wars and unrest.

These videos are part of China’s broader criticism of US trade policies. They highlight how tariffs have led to reciprocal import duties and export restrictions from Beijing.

US President Donald Trump has downplayed the effects as a temporary “disturbance.”
