Chinese startup Baichuan Intelligence, founded by ex-Sogou CEO Wang Xiaochuan, has launched its large language model Baichuan-13B. This next-generation model has 13 billion parameters and is trained on both Chinese and English data. This rapid progress comes as China is preparing to implement strict AI regulations, potentially necessitating licenses for large language model use.
