Chinese spatial tech firm expands globally despite US tensions
Manycore Tech Inc., a Chinese AI startup known for its spatial design software, is expanding globally despite US-China tensions.
The company has teams in over 10 countries, including the US, South Korea, and Indonesia, and serves enterprise customers across 200 markets.
It offers Coohom and SpatialVerse under a freemium model, reporting 86.3 million monthly active visitors in 2024.
Recognized as one of Hangzhou’s “Six Little Dragons,” Manycore filed for a Hong Kong IPO in February after dropping US listing plans due to regulatory challenges faced by Chinese firms like Didi Global.
The company optimizes computing resources while ensuring legal compliance, using cloud services from AWS and semiconductors from Nvidia and AMD.
To expand its user base, it focuses on affordability but continues to report financial losses, with a 422.1 million yuan (US$58.3 million) loss in the first nine months of 2024.
