Chinese self-driving truck startup Zeron secures $70m funding

Chinese electric truck manufacturer Zeron (零一汽车) has secured 500 million yuan (approximately US$70 million) in its Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by autonomous driving firm Momenta, alongside Xinghang Venture Capital and Chentao Capital.

The funding round also included participation from Guofa Wenxin, Loudong Industrial Fund, Deying Capital, Xinjing Fuying, Vision Plus Capital, Caitong Capital, Ondine Capital, and existing investor Skyview Fund. The capital will support the mass production of new research and development platforms. It will also facilitate the large-scale deployment of autonomous trucks.

Zeron specializes in integrating self-driving technology into commercial vehicles. The diverse participation of investors reflects increasing interest in China’s electric and autonomous vehicle market. This interest is driven by the demand for sustainable transportation solutions.
