Chinese rocket startup i-Space eyes $970m raise

Chinese rocket startup i-Space is seeking 7 billion yuan (about US$970 million) in a Series E round at a 23.5 billion yuan (US$3.44 billion) pre-money valuation. The funds will support Hyperbola-3 and heavy rocket development.

Founded in 2016, the company has completed multiple funding rounds and operates R&D and manufacturing in China.

The series E round is expected to be its last private round before a planned STAR Market IPO in H2 2027 under rules that let rocket firms list based on milestones.

That plan is critical to Hyperbola-3 completing orbital launch and sea recovery from Wenchang in Q4 2026. If the raise closes, it would top the 5 billion yuan (US$737 million) round in February 2026.
