Chinese robot sensor firm PaXini begins IPO process
PaXini Artificial Intelligence Technology, a China-based startup developing tactile perception technology for robots, completed an IPO tutoring filing with the Beijing Securities Regulatory Bureau, according to China Securities Regulatory Commission records published on September 21.
Guotai Haitong Securities is the tutoring institution.
The filing is an early step in mainland China’s listing process that must be completed before applying for an initial public offering, rather than approval to go public.
Founded in 2021, PaXini said it has raised more than 4 billion yuan (US$597 million) and reached a post-investment valuation of more than 10 billion yuan (US$1.49 billion).
The company said its investors include BYD, JD.com, Samsung, TCL, SAIC, BAIC, ENN, SenseTime, and UNI-T.
PaXini said cumulative shipments of its tactile perception chips have exceeded 1 million units. The company sells tactile sensors for robots, including components used in grippers and robot skin to detect contact and force.
PaXini is in a broader field of Chinese humanoid robot sensor suppliers.
