Chinese startup Suzhou Intelligence Technology plans to expand its commercial cleaning robot operations in Hong Kong and Macau.

The company’s founder and CEO, Kong Bing, said the firm specializes in large robots designed for cleaning surfaces like marble and granite in locations such as shopping centers and airports. The robots are sold under the Partner Robot brand.

Kong cited high labor costs and strict hygiene standards as reasons for focusing on these two markets.

While household cleaning robots are in demand, commercial-grade robots face more limited uptake.

Convincing property management firms to invest in such technology can be challenging due to the need for approval from multiple stakeholders.
