Chinese logistics firm Neolix eyes Saudi expansion
At LEAP East 2026 in Hong Kong, Neolix, a China-based autonomous logistics company, said the sector is moving beyond pilot projects as retailers and logistics operators seek lower delivery costs and relief from labor shortages.
Executive President Will Zhao said Neolix has deployed more than 25,000 RoboVans in over 300 cities across 15 countries and logged about 200 million autonomous kilometers.
Those figures were not independently verified.
Neolix’s focus on the UAE comes as Dubai’s 2023 autonomous vehicle law requires licenses and technical approval for operations. Neolix also said it secured the UAE’s first RoboVan license in partnership with Abu Dhabi-based K2 Group.
Zhao said Saudi Arabia was the next step, through local partnerships. The country’s autonomous vehicle rules were due to enter into force in April 2026, and it has already run sandbox pilots.
Industry forecasts estimate the global autonomous delivery robots market will reach US$4.87 billion by 2033, up from US$923.5 million in 2026.
